A Special Exhibition in Memory of Dr Michael David Morris

We’re taking the opportunity to celebrate the memory of this most beloved local doctor, artist and collector through a display of his sculpture, and a small part of his collection of work by artists David Lloyd-Jones, Russell Platt, Mike Jennings Ann Baxter and Jack Hellewell.

David was a hugely entertaining story-teller; here’s my favourite of his anecdotes, “During my clinical training in Bradford (1957-59), I met a young conscienscious objector working as a ward orderly. I bought some of his first paintings, but I advised him to stick to nursing, telling him it offered far more solid career prospects. Luckily he ignored my wisdom - it was David Hockney.
